Is it hard to create an eBook?

On the internet you’ll see things written like: “Creating an ebook can seem daunting, but it’s not inherently difficult.” Okay, so who of you authors, want to learn the jargon, learn the right software, and publish your book according to a variety of required specifications?

Do you know the jargon? Words like epub, markup code and tags, stylesheets, classes, selectors, css, xhtml, export tags, href, page-break-before, max-width, etc. The best source is W3 Schools https://www.w3schools.com/html/

Do you know a good software? Sigil. Here are the instructions: https://sigil-ebook.com/sigil/guide/

Do you know the specs required by your ebookstore for publishing your ebook? That you would look up specific to your choices.

If you’ve been creating ebooks for a living, like Debbi and I have here at Modern Book Design, it is not hard. We know what we are doing, even understand the backend code to improve the actual display that could appear understated or converted poorly by an ebook conversion software.

So, you have some resources here if you’d like to create your own ebook. Just know that we are here to help if you get bogged down. Help?
